Professional Career and Activities
Born in 1956. Teaching certificate 1978 (University of Fribourg, Switzerland). Medical Board Exams and Ph.D. 1986 (University of Berne, Switzerland). General practitioner (FMH) since 1993. Master’s Degree Equivalency in Acupuncture and Herbology 2001 (International Institute of Chinese Medicine (IICM), Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA).
Since 1987 integration of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine into the medical practice, currently working in his clinic in Sarnen, Switzerland.
Teaching Acupuncture – TCM at the Universities of Zurich and Berne. Speaker at different national and international congresses.
Since the 1980s engagement with the I Ching (Yì Jīng – 易经, The Book of Changes), the oldest classical Chinese text. 1999 first contact with TCM practitioners that interconnected TCM and I Ching. Breakthrough in the comprehension of the connections due to Dr. Richard Tan.
In Armin’s clinic any health problem will first be assessed from the academic medicine’s perspective. For the treatment, however, a change to the oriental medicine’s perspective is required. The consequential TCM diagnosis will then be the basis for the treatment with acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.
Armin’s acupuncture style is affected by the integration of concepts of the I Ching and daoistic concepts of time in the classical acupuncture.
For the treatment with Chinese herbs different pharmaceutical forms are offered – from classical decoctions to granules, capsules and creams for external applications.

Die 1-Tageskurse „Nebenmeridiane“ und „Repetition Akupunkturmodul 1“ von Armin Koch werden im Rahmen des Körperakupunktur Basis-Moduls angeboten.
